Papua – The eastern Pearl

No less than fourteen regencies in Papua have uniqueness and distinct attraction for tourists to visit. Lot of places to visit, ocean tourism that presents fascinating ocean park, culture tourism, history and much more flora and fauna tourism that you will not find in other places. All of these tourists’s area remains in natural condition, primitive indigene society making Papua as one attractive place for both foreign tourists and local tourists.

Jaya Pura as known as Hollandia at the past has one museum that provides much information about Papua cultures like a carved object from a variety of regency, war equipments, woven products, folk dances, many sites and relics as well.

Sentani has statue of General Douglas Mc Arthur as World War II legacy. At the north of Mc Arthur around of 325 meters high laid on mountain Cyclops plain with Dofonsoro peak. This amazing area used as Mc Arthur military based in the past.

At Cyclops peak, you can monitor Lake Sentani area with its clear blue water. This 9,670 ha lake is inhabitant livelihood. Lake Sentani is majestically recreation area and this suits for relaxing as well.

If you want to continue trip to Jayapura, you have to visit Biak. In East Biak, exactly in RIM village, you can see Bird Park that has several of Irian scarce bird; you can only see them in Papua. This bird park has total land area of two ha.

This land also has beautiful ocean park, occupied in Padaido land which consisting 30 lands. Padaido ocean park has international class level containing variety of marine plants, coral reefs and many of big and little fishes.
